Handypay understands that unforeseen changes to circumstances can happen, and so we are committed to supporting customers experiencing financial hardship. Those circumstances could be personal (e.g. illness or injury), a major life event (e.g. death of a loved one, loss of employment), or another reasonable cause.
While financial hardship assistance does not remove the obligation to repay a loan, it is intended to help make loan repayments more manageable during a time of financial difficulty. Handypay may decide to change the contract if it is satisfied that there is a reasonable cause for the borrower’s inability to meet their obligations, and that the borrower will be able to meet their obligations under the contract if it was changed.
